About Whoopsy Daily Childcare

Combining the young and the old in a caregiver setting has always been a dream of mine. The benefits for both age groups are incredible! People with Alzheimer’s and dementia often regress backwards to their younger years and often enjoy the same type of activities that young kids do. Bringing them together in our unique multi-generational caregiver setting brings all participants great joy—each living in the moment and enjoying the beauty of life.

Every day, at countryside living, we encourage kids to say hello and good morning to all the residents—pre-pandemic we were giving hugs or shaking hands.  We sing songs, do crafts, and once a week eat lunch together.   The shared interaction builds empathy in our kids and teaches them to communicate better.  The seniors get time with youth, and as a grandfather, I know firsthand the regenerative effects of time with my grandchildren.

A child’s world is wonderful and a great place to be. We strive to make a difference in the life of young and old alike, planting seeds and nurturing growth.
